History and description
King Power at Den Dreef, previously known as Stadion Den Dreef, had long been in use as a cycling track, but in the late 1960s was turned into a modest football stadium.
The stadium became the home of Oud-Heverlee Leuven after they were formed in a merger of three clubs in 2002. In the next years, Stadion Den Dreef got almost completely rebuilt with a new main stand and makeshift stands built over the athletics track.
The main stand got further extended in 2012, adding another 800 seats to the ground.
Following the promotion of the club to Belgium’s top league, plans were made for an extensive redevelopment of the ground, consisting of three phases including a new stand opposite the main stand, new stands in the corners, and a new stand behind the goal. This would result in a capacity of 12,500 seats.
In 2016, phase 1 of the redevelopment got completed with the opening of a new stand on the side, but phase 2 and 3 got halted when OHL relegated to the second division.
How to get to Stadion Den Dreef

Den Dreef isn’t the most beautiful of stadiums, but I would definitely recommend a visit to anyone who finds himself/herself in the Leuven area.
There tends to be a good atmosphere generated in the ground, despite the low capacity of the stadium and the generally mediocre football on show. The home fans are really quite impressive and the club has a nice family feel to it.
The stadium is rarely sold-out, though it is regularly pretty full, so it is usually fine to get tickets on the night of the game. It is €15 for a ticket for the standing area. Those who work at the club are very friendly in my experience and are able to help those who don’t speak much/any Dutch.
Another major plus point, at least for a fan from the UK such as myself, is that you can buy beer in the stadium. It is also only a 15 minute walk from the Grote Markt area of Leuven, which has a wide array of bars.
