History and description
Tallagh Stadium was built to provide Shamrock Rovers with a new home after they had been forced into exile when their old ground Glenmalure Park was sold to property developers in 1987.
Construction of the new stadium started in 2000, but was ceased one year later due to legal issues. It took seven years to solve these before works could recommence.
The first match at Tallagh Stadium was played on the 13th of March 2009 (Shamrock Rovers vs Sligo Rovers), but only one stand had been completed then. It took until the summer of 2009 for the stadium to be ready and officially inaugurated.
How to get to Tallaght Stadium
