Description
Nuovo Stadio Venezia is a proposed new stadium for Venezia. It will replace the aged Stadio Pierluigi Penzo as the home of Venezia.
First plans for a new stadium for Venezia were presented in 2017 when Venice’s major described a new development near Venice’s Marco Polo airport including a shopping mall, leisure facilities, and a hotel.
More concrete plans and designs were presented in 2019. The stadium will be able to hold 18,000 spectators with the option for expansion to 25,000 seats. The stadium will be connected to the airport and Mestre with a newly built train station.
The club hope to get final approval towards the end of 2020 and start construction works in 2021. The stadium would then be completed in August 2023.
