History and description
Stade Gaston Petit got built in 1962. It was initially called Stade Municipal but got renamed later after Gaston Petit, a former major of the city that was a big fan of the club.
The stadium underwent a large renovation in 1997 following the promotion of Chateauroux to Ligue 1. It recorded its highest attendance of 15,896 during their debut season in Ligue 1 in 1998 when Marseille came to visit.
How to get to Stade Gaston Petit
Stade Gaston Petit is located in the south-east of the town of Chateauroux at about 2 kilometres from Chateauraux’ town centre and main railway station.
The walk along the Avenue de la Chatre should take no longer than half an hour. Alternatively, catch bus 15 from the main railway station. Take the bus in the direction of Ardentes and get off at stop Gaston Petit. Bus 2 to Brauderie is an alternative (get off at stop Coubertin).
Chateauroux, located in the middle of France, has a direct train connection with Paris as it is on the high-speed line to Toulouse. The journey takes about 2 hours. From other French destinations a transfer is usually required in either Vierzon, Limoges, or Paris.

Chateauroux Tickets
Chateauroux tickets can be bought online or before the start of the match at the ticket windows of the stadium. Chateauroux does not normally sell out.
