History and description<\/h3>\n

Estadio Garcilaso was built in 1950 and could initially hold just over 20,000 spectators.<\/p>\n

The stadium got further expanded for the 2004 Copa Am\u00e9rica, even though it only hosted the match for third place.<\/p>\n

In the early 2000s, the government of Cuzco presented plans to redevelop Estadio Garcilaso, which would\u00a0involve the installation of a roof, a new exterior, and more boxes, but while they had hoped to complete the redevelopment\u00a0in 2014, thus far only minor refurbishments have been performed.<\/p>\n
