Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium, nicknamed the Big Crown, was built to serve as one of the playing venues of the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Construction of the stadium began in 1998, and the stadium officially opened on 30 June 2001.<\/p>\n

During the World Cup, the stadium hosted two first round group matches and the quarter-final between Germany and USA (1-0). Following the World Cup, Ulsan Hyundai moved into the stadium, leaving their ground in Jung-gu behind.<\/p>\n

How to get to\u00a0Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium<\/h3>\n

Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium is located in the Mugeo Dong area in the west of the city of Ulsan, not far from the University of Ulsan campus. It lies on the edge of the city bordered by lakes and forests.<\/p>\n

The stadium is located\u00a0about 5.5 kilometres away from Ulsan City Hall and 7.5 kilometres away from the Express Bus Terminal in downtown Ulsan. Ulsan’s high-speed train station lies much further west, about 17 kilometres outside of the city.<\/p>\n

Multiple buses connect Munsu Football Stadium with central\u00a0Ulsan. Bus 104 and\u00a0114 connect the stadium with areas just north of the river and Ilsan beach, bus 411 and 426 with City Hall, bus 407 with the Express bus terminal, and bus 733, 1104, 1137, 1401, and 1402 with Taewha Station and other areas in downtown Ulsan.<\/p>\n
