History and description<\/h3>\n

HBF Park, also known as Perth Oval, was built in 1910 to serve as an Australian football ground, though sports, including soccer, had been played at the site, that was known as Loton’s Paddock, before.<\/p>\n

Being built to host Australian football, the stadium was oval-shaped, though apart from being the home of East Perth football club, also hosted cricket and the odd soccer match. A new grandstand was built in 1956.<\/p>\n

In 1995, the Perth Oval became the home of newly formed Perth Glory, however the oval shape of the stadium proved ill-suited for soccer. Once East Perth moved out in 1999, plans were therefore made to redevelop the stadium to a rectangular shape. Works started in 2003 and were completed one year later.<\/p>\n

Perth Oval has had various sponsorship names, including Members Equity Stadium, ME Bank Stadium, nib Stadium, and finally since 2019 HBF Park.<\/p>\n

How to get to HBF Park<\/h3>\n

HBF Park is located just north of Perth’s Central Business District (CBD), about a kilometre away from Perth railway station.<\/p>\n

The stadium can easily be walked to from most central destinations in and around Perth’s CBD. The walk will take from 15 to 30 minutes at most.<\/p>\n

While the stadium can easily be walked to from Perth Station, Claisebrook station is closer the the stadium, a few minutes’ walk away. Claisebrook is on the Midland and Armadale & Thornlie commuter\u00a0rail<\/a> lines, which connect\u00a0the CBD with the western and south-western suburbs. Trains run very frequent. East Perth Station and McIver Station are also at close walking distance of nib Stadium.<\/p>\n

From the CBD, bus 41, 42,48, and 55 are an alternative to walking. Take the bus from William Street and get off at Lord Street.<\/p>\n
