History and description<\/h3>\n

Campo de Lasesarre got built to replace Barakaldo’s old stadium with the same name with a modern version. It officially opened on 30 September 2003 with a friendly versus Athletic Club (2-3).<\/p>\n

The stadium stands out through its modern design with straight lines, integrated floodlights, and coloured seats that aims to blend into its environment. The stadium was designed by architect Eduardo Arroyo.<\/p>\n

How to get to\u00a0Campo de Lasesarre<\/h3>\n

Campo de Lasesarre is located just north of the centre of Barakaldo, a city part of the Greater Bilbao metropolitan area.<\/p>\n

Barakaldo lies about 7.5 kilometres north of Bilbao and can be reached by metro or train. Train station Desertu-Barakaldo lies closest to Campo de Lasesarre. Take Cercania<\/a> line C1 or C2 from Abando or Zabalburu station in Bilbao’s centre (or from San Mames station near San Mames<\/a>). Trains run every 10 to 15 minutes for the 13-minute journey. It’s a 5-minute walk from Desertu station to the stadium.<\/p>\n

Alternatively, take the metro<\/a> from, for example Abando, Zazpikaleak, or Indautxu station in Bilbao’s centre. Take metro line L2 towards Kabiezes and get off at station Barakaldo or Bagatza. Trains run frequently for the 15-minute journey. It’s a 10-minute walk from either station through Barakaldo’s centre to the stadium.<\/p>\n
