History and description<\/h3>\n

Campos de Sport de El Sardinero opened on the 20th of August 1988. It replaced Racing\u2019s previous ground with the same name.<\/p>\n

The first match at El Sardinero was played between Racing and Oviedo. Since then, only minor renovations have been performed on the stadium.<\/p>\n

How to get to El Sardinero<\/h3>\n

Estadio El Sardinero is located in the north-east of the town of Santander at just a few hundred metres from Sardinero beach (Playa del Sardinero).<\/p>\n

It is about 2.5 kilometres from the town\u2019s historic centre, and a few hundred metres more from the main train and bus stations. The walk to the stadium should take about 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

Many buses<\/a> pass in the vicinity of the stadium. Line 1, 2, 3, 6, 13, 15 and 20 all go from the centre to Sardinero beach. Stops Los Agust\u00ednos and Campo de F\u00fatbol lie almost next to the stadium.<\/p>\n
