Central Coast Stadium was built in 1999 to serve as a home for rugby club North Sydney Bears, who\u00a0in the end never moved into the stadium.<\/p>\n
Central Coast Stadium opened in February 2000, and the Central Coast Mariners moved in after their foundation in 2004.<\/p>\n
The stadium has stands on three sides, with the side bordering the Brisbane Water left open. It has had various names, primarily resulting from sponsorship deals, most recently Bluetongue Stadium\u00a0between 2011 and 2014, but right now goes by the name of Central Coast Stadium again.<\/p>\n
<\/span><\/p>\n Central Coast\u00a0Stadium is located in the small city of Gosford, which lies about 70 kilometres north of Sydney. The stadium sits on the shores of the Brisbane Water, an inland bay, and lies on the south-western tip of Gosford\u2019s city centre.<\/p>\n The stadium is separated from the bay by the Central Coast Highway, which branches off the Sydney-Newcastle Freeway further west. From the Freeway, exit for the Central Coast Highway\/Gosford, and follow for almost 7 kilometres until reaching Gosford. The stadium will be visible on the left side of the road when on the bridge crossing the railroad tracks.<\/p>\n The stadium lies at short walking distance from Gosford train<\/a> station. Gosford is on the Newcastle & Central Coast Line, which connects the city with Sydney and Newcastle.
